Stratus Tech Aus (ABN 65 507 324 355) (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a sole trader business providing IT support, infrastructure, Microsoft 365, cybersecurity and procurement services. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information.

We aim to comply with Australian privacy law including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). Even if the small business exemption could apply to a sole trader under the Privacy Act, we choose to follow the APPs as a matter of good practice and to meet client expectations. Where applicable, we also follow the Notifiable Data Breaches (NDB) scheme.

What is personal information?

“Personal information” is information or an opinion about an identifiable individual (whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not). It includes details you provide directly, information we generate while delivering services, and information available from public sources or service providers.

• Identity / onboarding — information provided for account setup and verification (e.g., full name; if required for ID verification, photo ID and basic demographic info).

• Project & support — configuration data, system identifiers, logs or other information reasonably necessary to deliver IT services and support.

Why we collect it

• To deliver, support and improve our IT services and solutions.
• To verify identity, manage security and prevent fraud or misuse.
• To manage quotes, orders, projects, accounts and billing.
• To communicate about our services (with opt-out options).
• To comply with laws, regulations and court orders.
• To recruit and engage contractors where relevant.

How we collect it

We collect information directly from you (meetings, calls, email, web forms, social media, remote sessions) and from publicly available sources or trusted providers (e.g., vendor/distributor portals used for procurement). We’ll provide opt-out options for marketing messages.

How we use your information

We generally use personal information for the purpose it was collected, or for related purposes you’d reasonably expect. Typical uses include contacting you, provisioning or supporting services, performing security checks, processing payments, maintaining records, and performing targeted or general marketing (with an opt-out available in every marketing email).

• IT/cloud/security/hosting providers and tools used for service delivery and support.

Data hosting & cross-border

Our website is primarily hosted in Australia. Some trusted providers we use may process data in other countries. Where information is transferred overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled in a way that provides comparable protections.

How we protect your data
